Navy Museum, Qingdao China
Qingdao, home of the famous Chinese beer is on the Chinese coast not far from Shanghai and is also home to the Chinese navy. With the Chinese government opening up and relaxing and the opportunities increased tourism presents, the museum was an opportunity to house considerable (historical) artefacts and equipment while presenting the same to the public proudly and within an historical context.
As Singapore based PICO DESIGN’s Creative Consultant, Brian’s role was to research the site (and inventory!) with the navy and produce an architectural solution that with its external appearance and interior design would be a project and destination of iconic status.
